God is confident in us

Today my good friend Allyson, who was also my sorority’s sunshine girl this year, held her last bible study.

We took some time to meditate on what the Lord has taught us this semester and what He wants us to improve upon next semester.

During this time I decided to go to my bible app and look through my past notes and stumbled upon Philippians 1:6-11

being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart and, whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God’s grace with me. God can testify how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus. And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.”

I love this passage because not only is it so empowering, but also encouraging to keep pursuing God.

So many times in my life I have zero confidence in what I’m doing or how I’m living, when in reality God has ALL the CONFIDENCE in each and every one of us. That’s so cool!

Not only did he create us, but he continues to pursue and love us as His own.

It also reaffirms the truth that in order to realize what God has for you, it’s important to draw near to Him. He gives us insight when we abound in His love and knowledge.

So basically, I’ve felt convicted this past semester not staying in the word and treating God as an acquaintance instead of my Lord and Savior.

But I also haven’t trusted Him with my worldly concerns like school and my future. With graduation in the very near future, I’ve been worrying and my anxiety is through the roof.

It’s good to remember that God’s good works will continue until Jesus’ return. We only need to stay confident in God and in return He’ll give us confidence in life!
